Days 1-4

Our first stop on this journey, Lake Tahoe, offers our teens the chance to become acquainted with new friends while sharing 3 and 4 bedroom mountainside condominiums.  Orientation and introductions during the first night in the Sierra Nevada mountains are an integral part of our special opening activities which include a pool party at the Swim and Racquet Club.  In the morning, the zip line of the High Ropes course will provide the thrills before a picnic lunch at the beach.  That afternoon we’ll be wake boarding, knee boarding and water-skiing on the Lake with the snow covered peaks as a backdrop.  Our next stop, Yosemite National Park, gives us an opportunity to hike among the Giant Redwoods and Sequoias.  We’ll also view Yosemite Falls as well as the 1000 Ft. Granite Cliffs at El Capitan.  Karaoke night is always a blast before we head to the city.

Days 5-6

San Francisco offers big city excitement.  We’ll check-in to our hotel and begin with dinner at the world famous Fisherman’s Wharf.  Of course, the visit would’t be complete without a walk down Lombard Street, the world’s most crooked street, and across the magnificent Golden Gate Bridge, after which we’ll tour Alcatraz, catch a Giants game and enjoy ice cream sundaes at the very popular Ghirardelli Chocolate Factory.

Days 7-10

We travel south to Los Angeles for a taste of Hollywood and stay on the campus of UCLA.  We’ll visit ever-lively Rodeo Drive, Santa Monica Pier and Venice Beach. Enjoy Magic Mountain, stop at Mann’s Chinese Theatre and take a tour of the stars’ homes.  We’ll take a moment to remember as we visit the Museum of Tolerance.  We will also enjoy a TV studio taping and a day at Disneyland.

Days 11-12

We’ll spend a day in the surf & sun aboard a hydrofoil boat to Catalina Island where the choice is yours: lounge on the beach, ocean kayak or snorkel in the clear waters of the Pacific Ocean.  A short journey south takes our teens to San Diego where they’ll visit the San Diego Zoo and the House of Douse at Sea World home of Shamu, the killer whale.

Days 13-15

The “Strip” awaits as the glitter of neon and billions of lights beckon us from the desert.  Las Vegas “Open 24 hours a day” is always a blast.  Our hotel accommodations on the Vegas Strip give our teens a chance to relax by the pool by day and enjoy the sights of Vegas by night.  The Forum Shops of Caesar’s Palace await you before an evening at Planet Hollywood.  We’ll tour the famous Las Vegas strip with stops at the Mirage Volcano, the Treasure Island Pirate Show, Secrets of the Luxor Pyramid, the Bellagio Water Show, Venetian Gondola and much more – including the high speed roller coaster at the New York, New York Hotel and the Big Shot atop the Stratosphere Tower.  We finish our stay here with an evening of virtual reality at Spielberg’s Gameworks Empire.

Days 16-19

Western SprintZion National Park, Bryce Canyon and the Grand Canyon will afford our teens spectacular views, colors and scenery.  In Zion National Park, we’ll hike the Narrows past such famous landmarks as the Great White Throne and Weeping Rock.  We’ll hike into Bryce Canyon with its pastel colors rising 100 feet above us.  We’ll also ride horseback in Bryce for one last view of the brilliance of colors in this magnificent canyon – an experience not be missed.  The mighty Colorado River far below will look like a stream as we tour the Rim of the Grand Canyon to our vantage point, from where we’ll have a spectacular view of the changing colors of canyon at sunset.

Days 19-22

Our journey is coming to its conclusion, but not before a fabulous stay in Scottsdale.  On our way, it’s a stop at the artist colonies of Sedona where we will take an exciting ride into the red rock formations aboard our private Pink Jeeps. After lunch in Sedona, we’ll continue on to our deluxe resort where our teens can make use of the tennis courts, golf course, swimming facilities and other amenities.

Following our farewell party, we’ll head home with memories and friendships that will last a lifetime. We’ll have just enough time to update our Facebook/MySpace pages before the Meritas Fall Reunion where we can relive all of the past summer’s fun times.
